True Freedom

“It is our very search for perfection outside of ourselves
that causes our suffering.”

 — The Buddha

I’m a recovering perfectionist.

I admit it.

What I’ve learned in my journey is to accept myself as I am right now.

As I accept myself it’s so much easier to accept others as they are, without judgement.

Do I still have judgements?

Yes, I do.

I’m aware of them as they pop up and I know that they are just judgements and not the truth.

Judgements are a trap for the person doing the judging.

They don’t hurt who or what’s being judged.

And they use up a lot of time and energy you could be using on something more useful, like achieving your goals.

I don’t judge much anymore.

I’ve noticed that I’m more free to just be and more fun to be with.

To begin to have more freedom do this Action Step today.

Action Step:

  1. Notice when you are judging someone or something.
  2. Own it. It’s your opinion and nothing more.
  3. Enjoy it.
  4. Let it go and vow to do better next time.
  5. What did you learn?
