Purpose

I define joy as a sustained sense of well-being and internal peace, a connection to what matters.

– Oprah Winfrey

As humans we have an undeniable need to be connected. Connected to one another, a society, a project, a goal, etc. When we do not feel connected our sense of self may be unfulfilled which can lead to loss of a sense of purpose, motivation, drive, and productivity.

When I’m disconnected from my purpose I don’t perform at my best to get the results I really want — it seems like I’m just going through the motions. When I re-connect with my purpose I’m more vital, alive and effective in my relationships, with my clients and goal achievement.

While being connected to my purpose my work becomes an extension of myself and my purpose. This is when I can make the biggest difference in my work and in other people’s lives.

Action Step: Get a sense of how connected you are to the purpose of your business and how your goals further your purpose. Then notice how being connected to your purpose feels and the difference you can make in others’ lives.
